Decanter Magazine

DecanterOnder de wijntijdschriften is het Britse maandblad Decanter dé benchmark. Er zijn talloze wijnjournalisten en wijnexperts verbonden aan dit magazine, zoals Andrew Jefford en Stephen Brook. Elke uitgave biedt relevant nieuws, degelijke achtergrondartikelen en een keur aan proefnotities met een puntenscore.

Decanter organiseert bovendien de grootste wijncompetitie die er is: de Decanter World Wine Awards. Voorzitter daarvan is de beroemde specialist Steven Spurrier en onder de juryleden – experts uit de hele wereld – bevinden zich grootheden als Gerard Bassett, die zowel Master Sommelier als Master of Wine is.

De wijnen worden beoordeeld op hun typiciteit, smaakintensiteit en complexiteit, maar bovenal op hun drinkbaarheid: ze moeten de consument gegarandeerd drinkplezier opleveren.
